Ibrox is located in Glasgow situated very close to the famous Rangers Football Club Stadium. Our project here is going to be quite challenging as the entire landscape is concrete! With funds raised (please donate!) we are going to work with the pupils to make the playground more environmentally friendly. We plan to have many raised beds and containers around the perimeter of the concrete playground with raspberries, strawberries, herbs, wild flowers and vegetables. Also we may experiment with vertical growing on the outdoor walls to make the best use of space available. Aims are to attract bees, birds, butterflies, to have healthy nutritious soil, to learn outdoors, create a diverse colourful environment, promote social cohesion and learn abaout healthy eating. So far we have grown herbs indoors, sourced old railway sleepers to make raised bed and had several lessons on ecology and sustainability.
