At this Primary school we are working with the motivated eco community made up of pupils from all year groups. The school has a concrete playground with an already established small garden area. Mariposa is helping to make this garden more efficient, teaching pupils about the different herbs and plants, adding another raised bed and large containers for fruit trees and bushes. Potentially there is vertical growing space along railings, space for water butts and much demand for a wormery!
Issues we have to deal with are the playground being used at night time for football by large numbers of youths, anti-social behaviour and we have to take into consideration the rich cultural diversity of the area too.
